Dana Smith | Biography


The millennium's first decade for Dana Smith began with some 3000 performances with his famous performing dog Lacey. Working as emcee at the Oregon and Ohio State Fair, appearing as the featured festival performing artist at the Tempe Festival of the Arts the last decade found Smith on the road adding to his already considerable experience. This is the backdrop of a storied, accomplished, mature showman. Stopping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 2001 at the International Street Performer's Festival he was honored and awarded the Golden Finkel for a lifetime of work in street theater.

A life long writer, Smith completed the draft to Highway Home in 1981. In 2005 he returned to the manuscript and over the next four years completely rebuilt and finished his first novel. Immediately Smith launched work on a second novel Bankrupt Heart completed in June of 2011. For 2012 the drafting for his third novel, Hot Spring Honeymoon will soon begin.
