I
got my start in 1974 with a show called the Royal
Lichtenstein Quarter-Ring Sidewalk Circus. We hit the road
and gave over 300 performances in 110 cities in 37 states
during 32 of the most exciting weeks of my life.
By 1977 I was working on the road in my own show. In those
days I appeared mostly at colleges during the school year
and spent my summers doing street shows. The United States
was my backdrop during those early years. I worked Boston to
Key West, from Seattle to San Diego. From September to June
I was out chasing dates in every region of the country. My
1967 Ford pick-up truck logged over five hundred thousand
miles on its odometer. That works out to about three engine
overhauls, four transmissions and two
differentials.
By 1980 I was working in San Francisco. The talent was not just deep, but it also consisted of top quality shows. The City by the Bay deserved the recognition it earned as the best city in the world for street performing. In 1992 I headed south to a rural life in Northern Arizona where I lived when I wasn't out touring. By 1995 I found myself residing in Oregon. In 1999 I put myself back on the road full time with a truck, trailer, new dog and full time touring. At the moment I have come full circle back to San Francisco where I now live with my wife on Telegraph Hill. In 2007 Lacey and I presented some 340 shows here and across the United States.
